MLS source, pricing method & coverage

Source updated Oct 2, 2026, 2:35 PM Central. Counts use eligible public listings matched to the labeled geography. Sale prices use positive asking prices on Active Residential listings; the median is shown with at least three priced listings. These are asking prices, not sold prices, valuations or all homes in the area. Rentals are counted separately; no rent period is assumed.

Under-contract and pending counts describe records currently in this feed. Location errors and omitted coordinates can affect boundary matches. The initial active-listing import is complete. Different areas can overlap; do not add their counts together.

Rosewood: a historic park with a new playground chapter

Rosewood Park holds a significant place in Austin’s Black history and remains a setting for recreation and community life. The city records a completed 2026 playground project, adding new play and gathering spaces to a much older civic landscape.

Austin Texas Things editorial research · imported . Original source check dates appear below.

A park with historical significance

The city dates Rosewood’s establishment to 1929 as Austin’s first public space designated for African Americans. Its history includes recreation, community gatherings and Juneteenth celebrations. [1]

New play and gathering spaces

The city says a new playscape opened in winter 2026, followed by a pavilion, seating, shade trees and sidewalk improvements in summer. The project page marks the work complete. [1]

A recreation-center history to explore

The Delores Duffie Recreation Center page traces the property’s earlier residential history and the development of public recreation programs beginning in 1929. [2]

Before you visit

  • Choose the facility as well as the park

Choose the recreation center or Doris Miller Auditorium for the activity you want. The city lists their programs separately; confirm the correct facility and current contact details before an indoor visit. [2]

  • Check an event’s current details

Rosewood’s role in Juneteenth is part of its history. Confirm a particular year’s event date, route and park arrangements through current organizers. [1]

A few local questions

Is the Rosewood playground replacement complete?

The city project page checked for this guide says the playground and associated 2026 improvements are complete and open to the public. [1]

Where is Delores Duffie Recreation Center listed?

The city lists it at 1182 North Pleasant Valley Road and provides facility and auditorium contact information on the recreation-center page. [2]

Counts from the research database behind Zabalist, measured within 0.5 mi (800 m) of the reference point. Each figure names its own window. Filings and reports are not a description of any home, block or resident, and they are never combined into a score.

Sources & sync dates

Rollup generated Oct 2, 2026 from the research database behind Zabalist. Point layers (permits, site plans, registrations, subdivisions, projects, inspections, crashes, 311) are counted within the stated radius of the reference point; TABC licenses and code cases are counted for the attached postal ZIP when one is available, and here that ZIP was inferred from the reference point rather than supplied. 311 counts exclude requests marked duplicate or cancelled; "open" counts requests that are open or in progress. A database sync date is when our copy was refreshed, not when the agency record last changed. Absence of a record is not evidence that nothing happened; reporting delays, missing addresses and later amendments all affect coverage.

Some names identify a phase, section or replat rather than a separate neighborhood.

Each neighborhood is placed by testing its own approximate footprint against a published City, Census or municipal boundary, or by matching the name its listings report. Footprints are estimates assembled from recorded plats and listing locations. This is a browsing relationship. It does not establish shared HOA membership, legal boundaries or services, and county identities stay with each place. Listing counts were recorded on ; open a neighborhood for its current homes.
