MLS source, pricing method & coverage

Source updated Oct 2, 2026, 1:35 PM Central. Counts use eligible public listings matched to the labeled geography. Sale prices use positive asking prices on Active Residential listings; the median is shown with at least three priced listings. These are asking prices, not sold prices, valuations or all homes in the area. Rentals are counted separately; no rent period is assumed.

Under-contract and pending counts describe records currently in this feed. Location errors and omitted coordinates can affect boundary matches. The initial active-listing import is complete. Different areas can overlap; do not add their counts together.

Dawson: school legacy and neighborhood change

Dawson’s former elementary campus is entering a new chapter. Austin ISD now includes Dawson Elementary in its legacy-school history and publishes a dedicated repurposing process for the site. Read that current district record alongside the neighborhood’s long-established city plan.

Austin Texas Things editorial research · imported . Original source check dates appear below.

A campus with a local legacy

Austin ISD’s Legacy Schools page lists Dawson Elementary’s years as 1971–2026 and links transition information. Older school-program descriptions should not be treated as current enrollment options. [3]

Follow the site’s next chapter

The district says its board approved a fee-simple sale of the Dawson property on June 18, 2026, and that a request for proposals has been released. The page describes the process; it does not establish a completed sale or a finished new use. [2]

A plan dating to 1998

The city records adoption of the Dawson Neighborhood Plan on August 27, 1998. Its planning resources link amendments, the future land-use map and implementation recommendations for understanding neighborhood change. [1]

Before you visit

  • Check current school assignments

Use Austin ISD’s current School Finder and transition information for enrollment questions. The neighborhood name and the former campus do not establish a student’s current assigned school. [3][4]

  • Check site-use guidance first

The district’s repurposing page links schoolyard-use rules and a channel for maintenance or access concerns. Confirm permitted access before treating the former campus as a place to visit. [2]

A few local questions

Where can I follow Dawson Elementary’s repurposing?

Austin ISD’s Dawson repurposing page publishes board action, the request for proposals, evaluation materials and community-feedback context. Consult it for current process updates. [2]

Is the neighborhood plan a school attendance map?

No. The city plan addresses neighborhood planning and land use. Austin ISD provides a separate School Finder for current school information. [1][4]

LIVE PUBLIC RECORDS

What's changing around Dawson.

Counts from the research database behind Zabalist, measured within 0.5 mi (800 m) of the reference point. Each figure names its own window. Filings and reports are not a description of any home, block or resident, and they are never combined into a score.

Radius: within 800 m (0.5 mi) of the neighborhood's reference point (30.2324, -97.7621), which is a map marker and not a boundary. ZIP-scoped layers use inferred postal ZIP 78704, voted from mapped locations around the reference point. Rollup generated Oct 2, 2026.

Sources & sync dates

Rollup generated Oct 2, 2026 from the research database behind Zabalist. Point layers (permits, site plans, registrations, subdivisions, projects, inspections, crashes, 311) are counted within the stated radius of the reference point; TABC licenses and code cases are counted for the attached postal ZIP when one is available, and here that ZIP was inferred from the reference point rather than supplied. 311 counts exclude requests marked duplicate or cancelled; "open" counts requests that are open or in progress. A database sync date is when our copy was refreshed, not when the agency record last changed. Absence of a record is not evidence that nothing happened; reporting delays, missing addresses and later amendments all affect coverage.

Each of these sits inside the published boundary this guide describes. Open one to see its own outline, records and homes.

Each neighborhood is placed by testing its own approximate footprint against a published City, Census or municipal boundary, or by matching the name its listings report. Footprints are estimates assembled from recorded plats and listing locations. This is a browsing relationship. It does not establish shared HOA membership, legal boundaries or services, and county identities stay with each place. Listing counts were recorded on ; open a neighborhood for its current homes.

Zilker’s name connects a neighborhood and one of Austin’s major public parks. The city’s park and garden pages offer several distinct destinations, from themed gardens to Barton Springs, with a history shaped by land donations and New Deal-era work.
